Staying healthy for a lifetime can be challenging when you do not understand how to be healthy. What is the first thing you think of when you see the word health? You probably think of everything that you need to take out of your lifestyle in order to be healthy. But you should not think that way. Health class is designed to teach you how put things into your life that is going to have a positive change. Everyone likes to think of all of the aspects of their life that need to be removed, but really it is what you can put in. The foods you can add, the activities you start to do, or the people you allow in your life. Health has five different components, which all lead to a healthy lifestyle when you have the proper balance. That is what we teach in health. But you might ask how do you reach that balance?
Five Dimensions of Wellness:
Mental- The ability to learn, and grow from experiences, and utilize intellectual capabilities.
Physical- The ability to carry out daily task with vigor.
Emotional- The ability to control emotions and express them appropriately and comfortably.
Social- The ability to have satisfying interpersonal relationships and interactions with others.
Spiritual- Defined as a guided sense of meaning and value in life.
